BABYLOVE AND THE VAN DANGOS
ANY STAGE, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE

Babylove and the van Dangos is in every meaning of the word a liveband. A tight group of bonafide musicians that never hesitate to take up a challenge and will litteraly play anywhere at anytime. From live acoustic performances on japanese television, to cramped bars, to bass booming festivals, this band always deliver...and if there is no venue they just take it to the streets. The soldiers of ska, the rocksteady runaways, the rebels of reggae bring you... music for dancers and lovers.

In the spring of 2004, this seven piece outfit was formed by lead singer Daniel ”baby love” Broman to express the soulfulness of ska music. Less than 3 months later this baby was already up and running wild on the danish ska scene. Since March 2005 the band has been in the top of the ska and reggae chart on one the worlds biggest upcomingband MP3 homepages, www.purevolume.com, and the band had a track (“rude boy”) on the compilation from Muchroom Cloud records, USA and one (“the road ahead”) on Skanibal Party from Mad Butcher records, Germany.

After a year of song writing, beer drinking and dancefloor shaking, BvD recorded, produced and mixed their debut album ”Run run rudie”, which was released on the bands own label ”Lovers Choice Records”. The self released album has so far sold a solid 1500 copies whithout any promotional support except the music itself and the bands impressing live performances.” Run run rudie” has just (january 2007) been re-released by the international ska label Megalith records and is distributed in Europe, U.S.A and Japan.

After almost 150 shows played throughout the 3 year life of the BvD, their soulful sound has earned them a place up with the top live acts on the ska scene. Doing it the old fashion way BvD has toured Scandinavia, Northern Europe and Japan to build a solid fan base and show that this is a band that always gets the peoples feet, moving to the sweet ska beat.

In november 2006 BvD recorded a 7” vinyl the classic way. One take, no cuts and lots of oldschool feeling. The single ”Big Big Baboon” is a boot to the chin of all world leaders that seem to think that the people of the world is no more than their personal ant-farm to be shaken when they’re in that mood. But they will get wise and they will tumble soon.”Big Big Baboon” features the amazingly talented Coolie Ranx(ex-toasters, ex-pilfers) who brings his personal ”rudeboy style” to the track.

In december 2006, Babylove and the van Dangos fled the rainy, windwhipped streets of Copehagen and hybernated in the studio for six days. The result was the , as yet untitled, second album. Containing 14 brand new tunes, the album establishes BvD as a band that isn’t going away and will continue spreading the gospel of ska ’til their last breath. Songs of love, of stormy weather, of coins in hats and Shure automatics, mix and tells the tales of the life of Babylove and the van Dangos

2007 looks like a busy year for Babylove and the van Dangos. Two record releases, their second album and the 7” Big Big Baboon, will be followed by heavy touring all over Europe and hopefully beyond. So keep your eyes peeled, cause any stage, anywhere, at anytime Babylove and the van Dangos might be bringing their Rocksteady Ska to your town.

SEE YOU ON THE DANCE FLOOR.
