Blair Hebert Eskimo Calypso (Acoustic) Play Song Blair Hebert is a Canadian, singer songwriter living in Vancouver BC. He is acknowledged by both fans and peers as a solid stage performer, gifted songwriter, an accomplished guitarist with a strong melodic voice and a great story teller. Blair's charm on a concert stage is his ability to make you feel like you are in his living room. In 2006 Blair self produced his first full length songwriters CD titled KNOW drawing on songs he has performed for years in concert as a solo acoustic act. Using many of Vancouver's finest musicians, the CD is an eclectic groove driven compilation with tasty B3 organ and Latin percussion throughout, oh yes and accordion too. Onstage and Up-tempo, Blair is best known as a Swing/Jazz artist in Vancouver who has fronted a five piece combo The Swinging Detectives since 1998. Live performances are currently on hold as he is currently in studio focused on writing and recording a swing CD for a new project RADIO SATELLITE to be released late 2007. The new CD will be a collection of original and brilliant forgotten jump/swing tunes, performed with the same positive vibe as Louis Jordan, Slim Gaillard, Satchmo and Louis Prima, all performed combo style with a distinctive swing guitar feel. Blair continues to perform his acoustic songs solo on small to medium stages around Vancouver. His vision for 2007 and beyond is to combine his solo acoustic performance for an intimate "get to know you" set with a follow-up set of swinging up-tempo originals and classic jump & swing tunes. Swing dancers are more than welcome. Plans for a tour of Europe are in the works.
